As Stanislavsky said, “while you are young, you should take a toothbrush and go where your eyes want to go”. So, last week we went to Uliyanovsk, Russia.
Everything is “saturated” with Lenin in the center of Ulyanovsk. It is quite clear: the city gained true fame due to the fact that V. I. Lenin was born here. All the most significant sights, one way or another, refer to this famous revolutionary. By the way, Simbirsk where there was born Vladimir Ulyanov (Lenin), was renamed Ulyanovsk in 1924.
Also such names of other historical figures as the writer I. A. Goncharov and the historian N. M. Karamzin are associated with the city.
During our trip to Ulyanovsk we visited Simbirsk Gymnasium. Vladimir Ulyanov (Lenin) graduated from it. But the gymnasium is remarkable not only because of this. The main thing is that everything in it is imbued with the spirit of the 19th century. Inside, the atmosphere of the 19th century is recreated: the interiors of the classrooms, halls, the dressing room, the gym (the physical room) have been restored. And we had such a strict guide …. that by the end of the excursion I already felt like a student of the gymnasium who is just about to be driven out of it for one more minor mistake … although in the 19th century girls could not study in the gymnasium. They took only boys.
Как сказал Станиславский, “пока мы молоды, мы должны вооружиться зубной щеткой и отправиться туда, куда глаза глядят”. Вот мы и отправились вчера в Ульяновск.
В центре Ульяновска Лениным “пропитано” все. Вполне понятно: истинную известность город приобрел из-за того, что здесь родился В. И. Ленин. Все самые значительные достопримечательности, так или иначе, отсылают к этому знаменитому революционеру. Симбирск в память об уроженце города Владимире Ульянове (Ленине) был переименован в Улья́новск в 1924 году. Также с городом связаны имена других исторических личностей: писателя И. А. Гончарова и историка Н. М. Карамзина.
В этот приезд в Ульяновск зашли в Симбирскую гимназию. Оттуда вышел Владимир Ульянов (Ленин). Но примечательна гимназия не столько этим. Главное – в ней все пропитано духом 19 века. Внутри воссоздана обстановка XIX века: восстановлены интерьеры классов, холлов, гардеробной, спортзала (физического кабинета). И у нас была такая строгая экскурсовод…. что к концу экскурсии я уже ощущала себя ученицей гимназии, которую вот-вот отправят из нее вон за очередную малую оплошность… хотя, что говорить, девочкам в гимназии учиться в 19 веке было нельзя. Брали только мальчиков.
